Purpose of High Voltage Switch Mechanical Characteristic Tester
Widely applicable for DC high voltage testing of electrical equipment such as zinc oxide arresters, magnetic blow arresters, power cables, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, etc.
Operating steps for High Voltage Switch Mechanical Characteristic Tester:
1. Use wires to securely connect the grounding screw of the generator and the grounding terminal of the test object to the earth ground wire.
2. Take out the nylon extension rod, wipe it clean, and screw it together with the spherical high-voltage ammeter, then insert it into the high-voltage output bushing.
3. Insert the plug of the spare shielded cable into the spherical ammeter (at this time, the meter shows 000), and connect the other end to the test object. (Note: The outer sheath of this cable carries high voltage and must be insulated from ground.)
4. Insert the five-pin plug of the high-voltage generator cable into the control box and tighten it, then plug in the power cord of the control box. Turn the voltage adjustment knob counterclockwise to zero. After pressing the start switch, you can adjust and increase the voltage as needed. (This unit is equipped with zero-position interlock and ground protection; it cannot start when the voltage adjustment knob is not at zero, nor when the ground wire is not properly connected.)
5. After testing, turn off the power. Wait until the high voltage automatically drops to near zero (the unit is equipped with an automatic discharge resistor for currents greater than 200uA), then use a discharge rod to discharge the test object. Only then can you unplug the power plug and proceed to disconnect the wires.
