10KV Cable AC Withstand Voltage Test Procedure

  Insulation preventive testing is an important means to ensure the reliable operation of power system equipment. Withstand voltage testing is an important means to inspect the insulation condition of equipment and also an important part of insulation preventive testing. Currently, the mainstream cable AC withstand voltage equipment includes variable frequency series resonance devices. Below, we list the withstand voltage test procedures for XLPE cross-linked polyethylene cables in relevant domestic provinces.



I. Test objects and test requirements



    1. AC withstand voltage test for 35kV/400mm2 cable of 1km, capacitance ≤0.2146uF, test frequency 30-300Hz, test voltage 52kV, test duration 60min.



    2. AC withstand voltage test for 10.5kV/63MW thermal generator, capacitance ≤0.33uF, test frequency 45-65Hz, test voltage 24kV, test duration 1min.



    3. AC withstand voltage test for 35kV main transformer, test frequency 30-300Hz, test voltage not exceeding 68kV, test duration 1min.



II. Working environment



    1. Ambient temperature: -150C –45 0C;



    2. Relative humidity: ≤90%RH;



    3. Altitude:  ≤3000 meters;



III. Test standards:



1. AC withstand voltage test for 35kV/300mm2 cable of 1km length, capacitance ≤0.1945uF, test frequency 30-300Hz, test voltage 52kV, test duration 60min.



2. AC withstand voltage test for 35kV/8000kVA main transformer, capacitance ≤0.012uF, test frequency 45-65Hz, test voltage 68kV, test duration 1min.



3. AC withstand voltage test for 10.5kV/50MW generator, capacitance ≤0.26uF, test frequency 45-65Hz, test voltage not exceeding 24kV, test duration 1min.



4. AC withstand voltage test for 6kV/8MW thermal generator, capacitance ≤0.1uF, test frequency 45-65Hz, test voltage not exceeding 15kV, test duration 1min.
