Transformer Capacity and Loss Characteristic Testing

China's power system implements a two-part tariff: in addition to the fees charged by metering devices, a basic electricity fee is also charged based on transformer capacity; for larger users, a one-time capacity increase fee must be paid when the transformer is put into operation. With the development of the power industry and the increase in electricity consumption, self-owned transformers and individually contracted transformers have gradually occupied a considerable share of distribution transformers. Consequently, individuals have resorted to various fraudulent means (mainly altering or replacing transformer nameplates) to achieve the purpose of paying less and using more electricity; some users steal hundreds of thousands of yuan in electricity fees annually, and the power sector lacks effective control measures.

The Transformer Capacity and Loss Characteristic Tester is a high-precision instrument specially developed and researched by our company to address this problem, specifically for measuring transformer capacity and loss parameters. It comes with a high-efficiency rechargeable battery and can operate without an external power supply; a single charge allows for continuous testing of 500 units. At the same time, the internal digital synthesis of three-phase standard sine wave signals (not a simple inverter AC output, ensuring the accuracy of test data under non-rated conditions) provides a three-phase precision AC test source through a power amplifier; when measuring transformer capacity and short-circuit loss, there is no need for external three-phase test power supplies, voltage regulators, current boosters, or other auxiliary equipment, simplifying wiring and greatly improving work efficiency.

The capacity test result accuracy rate reaches 100%. One device is equivalent to four devices: Transformer Capacity and Loss Characteristic Tester + Transformer Loss Parameter Tester + Harmonic Analyzer + Oscilloscope. It can precisely measure a series of power frequency parameters such as capacity, no-load current, no-load loss, short-circuit loss, and impedance voltage of various transformers, and can also measure voltage and current distortion rates and harmonic content during no-load and load tests, as well as perform vector analysis.
