Can a piece of wood be connected to smart home? The recently unveiled Mui will open your eyes. It looks like an ordinary piece of wood, but in fact, it is an interactive smart home display that can be used to control lighting, set temperature, or display information.





　　Mui is a new product developed by Japanese company Nissha, a technology company specializing in capacitive touch sensors, whose products are used in the Nintendo Switch. Since it is still in the prototype stage, Mui can only control lighting systems (supporting Philips Hue and Net LED), but support for IFTTT and Alexa will be added in the future. The IoT service it uses is myThings provided by Yahoo Japan.





　　The name Mui is pronounced in Japanese to mean "silence", which also fits its design style. It can fully blend into the room's decoration style in daily use, and only when you need it do you realize its existence. Compared to other smart home products, whether it's the Nest Thermostat E or Ecobee, its design is much more elegant.

　　Mui plans to launch on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter in June next year, with a price between $900-1200 (approximately RMB 6000-8000). This price is not cheap, but if you love minimalist electronic products, it is still very worth buying.
