According to State Grid Corporation of China, the big data center is the company's professional institution for data management and a platform for data sharing, services, and innovation. It is responsible for the professional management of data, achieving unified operation of data assets, and promoting the efficient use of data resources.
State Grid stated that the data center is mainly to provide digital support for building a "Three-Type, Two-Network" world energy internet enterprise.
Specifically, State Grid believes that the big data center will focus on the following tasks in the future: focusing on cutting-edge big data technologies and applications, making good system planning and overall design; breaking down data barriers, achieving efficient data application and value-added services, providing platform support for power grid business and emerging businesses; strengthening collaboration with upstream and downstream partners, customers, government, and all sectors of society, to build an international big data center for the energy industry.
At the 2019 work conference held at the beginning of the year, State Grid first proposed the new strategy of "Three-Type, Two-Network", which is to build hub-type, platform-type, and sharing-type enterprises, and to build and operate a strong smart grid and a ubiquitous power internet of things.
The strong smart grid is a strategic plan proposed by Liu Zhenya, former chairman of State Grid, in 2009. Over the past decade, it has invested heavily in the implementation of investments in links such as "generation-transmission-transformation-distribution-consumption", and has now been fully built and entered the final improvement stage.
As another important component of the "Three-Type, Two-Network", the ubiquitous power internet of things has become the most urgent and important task for State Grid.
The ubiquitous power internet of things refers to a smart service system that connects people and things around all aspects of the power system through modern information and communication technology, generating shared data.
State Grid believes that the ubiquitous power internet of things opens a new path for improving the operation level of the power system and the operational efficiency of power grid assets, and can also leverage the advantages of the power grid to explore the huge blue ocean market of the digital economy.
According to State Grid's phased deployment, the next three years will be the critical period for the construction of the ubiquitous power internet of things. It is planned to be initially completed by 2021 and fully completed by 2024.
For this new strategy, State Grid pays special attention to its application model. According to State Grid's requirements, clarifying the business model of the application layer of the ubiquitous power internet of things is the first priority for the 27 provincial companies to report their plans.
State Grid also realizes that building the ubiquitous power internet of things requires scientific and technological innovation to provide guarantees.
More than ten days ago, Kou Wei met with Ma Huateng, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Tencent, and the two sides exchanged discussions on promoting the construction of the energy internet.
Ma Huateng believes that the second half of the internet belongs to the industrial internet. Tencent is willing to share its research experience in big data, artificial intelligence, user experience, cloud computing, etc., to complement State Grid's advantages and jointly create an example of the energy internet.
